Since its first collection in 2008, Bobo Choses has changed our view on kids fashion. Impressed us with its playful, graphic and colorful designs for kids clothing. And then each season, Bobo Choses does it again. One great collection by another one and another one and so on...
Bright sweaters, cotton t-shirts, cool trousers and skirts plus beautiful accessories and decorations for the bedroom.
Each collection is special. It begins with a story or a tale and then the clothes come and it ends with decorative items.
And the best part? They do not only focus on clothes, they also care about a healthy mind and a positive philosophy.
Neverending Summer is the name of the latest collection. Spring/ Summer 2018 – that is inspired by Jane Goodall’s and the never-ending curiosity of children who love to ask questions.
Adriana Esperalba, founder and creative director of Bobo Choses, is definitely having a lot of fun with her collections. Being creative and humble is key.
When we started, we liked the word Bobo from the French expression, bourgeois bohème, even though the term can sometimes be seen as pejorative; it represents a kind of society with a passion for culture, against frivolous consumerism, but with a rather comfortable life that allows that attitude. The truth is, it’s just an easy word for a child to say. In Spanish, it can also mean naive, and in comedy plays, it’s the funny character. ‘Choses’: We want to come up with more ‘things’, and not just clothing; we are drawn to everything in children’s worlds.
Adriana is inspired by rationalist architecture, the Bauhaus school, Joan Miró, Sonia Delaunay as well as designers and illustrators such as Eric Carle and Bruno Munari.
What fascinates me most is being constantly obsessed with the world of children. When we take photos, everything happens really quickly and it’s tiring, but it’s one of the best times; it’s almost like the culmination of the work you have been doing for a long time, watching the children dressed in the new collection, playing and having fun. It’s incredible.
Bobo Choses is very involved with their environmental impact. 95% of their production is carried out between Spain and Portugal and they use organic and recycled materials wherever possible in their collections.
We have always been very proud of our philosophy and our style, and I believe that this is what people appreciate about us. We try to surprise and be creative in everything we do, as well as having fun while doing it, and I think this shows.
