Oak & Ice
Hand crafted from the best ingredients that are as local as possible. Oak and Ice offers very tasty classics but the best lays in their experiments with seasonal ingredients. The sorbets are made with 60% fruits (!!!) and you can find sugar free flavours too. Very passionate ice cream makers here! Try the ‘Eisturm’ – a tower of ice cream!
Unique flavours can be buckwheat, beetroot, prunes or dark sesame.

Gong Gan
This is not an ice cream parlour but a superb Korean restaurant with the best Bibimbap in town. And Gong Gan serves a delicious and traditional dessert called Pat Bing Su. It consists of red adzuki beans and small pieces of rice cake. Both ingredients are mixed separately with ice chips and sweetened condensed milk. Then they are piled in a bowl and sprinkled generously with Misutgaru, a powder of ten different cereals. It is sweet, cold, exotic and delicious. And it is huge and can either be shared or be your meal.
By the way, the restaurant looks like a work shop and the tables are filled with Lego bricks to play with. Best family entertainment!
Address: Schwedter Str. 2, 10119 Berlin
Hokey Pokey
Hokey Pokey calls itself a Patisserie, so be ready for a baffling treat. Very popular and very long lines during peak hours, so try to come early or late for dessert after diner. Is it worth it? The caramel with sea salt flavour is the best in the city!
Flavours: Cafe noir, cinnamon lemon, tonka bean or the Hokey Pokey namesake: vanilla ice cream with huge chunks of honeycomb toffee.
Address: Stargarder Strasse 73, 10437 Berlin
Kleine Eiszeit
Nostalgia with Kleine Eiszeit that is a real institution. Here you will find more of the traditional classics and the good old Vanilla-Chocolate soft serve. The waffles are still made with the same ‘East German’ recipe!
Address: Stargarder Str. 7, 10437 Berlin
Jones
Step into Jones and you are in ice cream heaven. Smell the freshly baked ice cream cones and discover iconic flavours like Banana-Chocolate-Marshmallow, Whisky-Pecan-Cornflakes or a Cucumber Tonic Sorbet.
And if you fancy an ice-cream sandwich then it should be here. Home baked American-style cookies from Garbrielle who is the former Championne de France du Dessert winner after all. Original and uber-delicious!
Flavours: Grapefruit & Earl Grey, full fat yoghurt, apple crumble, pineapple ginger and many more…
Address: Goltzstrasse 3, 10781 Berlin
Cuore di Vetro
All we can say is: C H O C O L A T E!
If you love chocolate, ice cream and/ or chocolate ice cream then you have to go here. Cuore di Vetro makes the best dark chocolate sorbet in town. It is so rich that you will want to come back. Every day!
Everything is made in house in true Italian style which you can witness in the back of the shop. Because Coure di Vetro means “heart of glass” and it refers to the “heart of the shop”, the production room where the magic happens.
Flavours (other than various chocolate types): Bronte pistachio ice cream, sheep ricotta or butter caramel.
Address: Max-Beer-Straße 33, 10119 Berlin
Vanille & Marille
Using only 100% natural ingredients, Vanille Marille has five different outlets all over Berlin and is known around locals as is the TV tower to tourists. No artificial colouring, additives or flavouring and always with some spot on ice creams of the month. Authentic ice cream that can go ‘funky’ with flavours such as ‘white chocolate with orange and ginger’ for example.
Flavours: Havanna Poppyseed, wild blueberry or Indian mango.
Address: We went to Hagelberger Str. 1, 10965 Berlin
Die Eismacher
Die Eismacher is famous for their original flavours. And especially for the bright purple Ube that is made with purple yam and coconut cream. Try it, it is amazing! Creamy and creative and well worth the way if you are not from/ in the area.
Flavours: Pandan nut, mint pineapple or extra crunchy peanut.
Address: Körtestraße 10, 10967 Berlin
