DESIGN, Furniture

When it comes to great, timeless and versatile furniture the Swedish four letters are our best friend. Adding a family to the mix and we love the Scandinavian style that does not break the bank.

That is why we fell in love with their latest collaboration that launched just this month. IKEA and Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek have created a range of furniture and home ware that showcases imperfections, rather than hiding them.
Exactly – they created what family living stands for.

The range of limited-edition pieces, includes chairs, tables, ceramics, textiles and glassware. With their craft-like aesthetic, the products are all designed to look slightly different from one another.

We love the colourful choices and big dining table. Perfect for a happy family kitchen or eating area. This industrial style offers a distinct, modern look that is somehow a great mix of cool and cosy.

On top Piet Hein Eek chose to use pine wood that would have otherwise been considered waste for the chair, bench and tables. Each piece features its own unique knots and grains.

The passion for sustainable, handmade design combined with the giant manufacturer. Designs that combine thoughtful and experimental attitude together with IKEA’s devotion to simplicity and accessibility.

And coming back to the industrial look. With its brilliant fusion of rustic wood and vintage forms, we do love this cool mix. And yes it is IKEA but these pieces are different. We won’t say unique but they will add a stylish and refined tune to your home.

If we would have to pick just one thing, we would go for the yellow chair! A little sunshine.
