Fashion and lifestyle news from Spain, Jan 2018

Hello everyone, it’s nice to have the chance to start this journey in January—a new year and a month of setting good intentions.

For a lot of Spanish kids fashion brands, this is a very exciting month. Even though their spring-summer collections were presented to the professional public months ago, the moment of truth comes now. Soon, the new collections will be hanging in every store. The online shops will be updated to look their best to present the new catalogues.

At the end of the day, it does not matter how well those collections performed during trade fairs and catwalks. Now we all—parents, relatives, friends and children (especially children)—will decide what we want to purchase, what collections we like, which brands will find success.

I believe this is a very exhilarating process for every children’s brand, regardless of whether they are new or already well established as a successful brand.
Over the next few months, my selection for Lunamag.com will highlight a couple of relatively new labels as well as some long-established brands. All of them have high quality standards and a lot of them produce locally.
Let’s start. I hope you enjoy the January selection:

Counting Clouds, never stop playing

I fell completely in love with this new collection as soon as I saw it. Each set in the fascinating and playful Let’s Dance collection is inspired by a theme. Let’s Dance: carry us back to our childhood, when we were able to happily dance and sing for hours without any shame. This beautiful and whimsical summer selection is composed of comfortable specialty garments and knits with hand-drawn prints and delightful patterns.

Counting Clouds garments are made in Spain using only great quality natural materials. The label refrains from mass production and makes their limited edition products at small workshops. In this way they try to promote local and sustainable businesses.

Tiny Cottons invites us this summer to a very special place, a dream holidays destination: Hôtel Bonheur !

Pack your bags and set off on this fun-filled journey in search of merriment.

If you happen to travel to Madrid or Barcelona, you can visit them personally. In Madrid, they opened a new shop in the Salamanca neighborhood in December. In February 2018, a 250 m² flagship store will open its doors in Barcelona (Born neighborhood). If you pass by, say hello for us to the Tiny Cottons team! Otherwise you can always visit their online shop.

One last reminder about Tiny Cottons: their collaboration with Puma and Bensimon continues in 2018, and the sneaker collections are fun and magical. They will certainly become kids’ favorites as we near the spring and summer months.

Born between Paris, New York and Madrid in 2015. JOSEFINA BAGS has been created with the desire to provide a versatile and contemporary diaper bag for modern moms. Right now we can buy two handbags and a backpack. All of them featuring:

  • Two extra large pockets for the baby and the mother’s accessories
  • Two pockets for the bottles or beverages
  • One main compartment to fit the computer with secure Velcro closure

With these models, JOSEFINA satisfies the contemporary moms’ needs by combining design, quality and functionality. I love them all!

Established in Barcelona in 2016, they try to create something new, different and original. The new collection is called Origami, the Japanese art is the inspiration for the summer collection 2018.

The creative process consisted on playing with the shapes that paper offers in order to search for new volumes and finally translate them into shoes.

I love the names of the colors of this collection: sun, moon, nude, pixie, black, frost, terracota and aloe. Warm and soft colors that transmit the fresh sensations of summer.

I have so much more to show you that I am already preparing my article for February. Stay tuned!
