Fashion and Lifestyle news from Spain, May 2018
DESIGN, Decoration, FASHION, Kids, Shoes
Hello everyone! I just came back from Spain. The kids had a two-week holiday, and we thought it would be a good idea to spend some time with family and friends. And it was!
We did a little tour that I am happy to recommend to all of you. We flew from Amsterdam to Bilbao (Vizcaya), then visited La Rioja, Navarra and back to Bilbao. While the weather is not as steady and sunny in the north of Spain as it is in the south, the landscape, food and warmth of the people make it all totally worthwhile!!
Now, let me get back to our subject: Spanish children’s brands ; )
Kids fashion Popelin, Mediterrenean Sea collection
Popelín by Cristina Sánchez unites a passion for arts with love for children. Since 2003, the company has supported human rights by fighting against child labour. That is why all the textiles and manufacturing processes are 100% made in Spain.
They get their inspiration from the past and create garments suitable for modern day living. Every Popelin collection has a vintage air that has clearly become their trademark. Each design is handled in the workshop with the utmost care. Every garment is a piece of artwork. I love the fact that they only use natural textiles, such as cotton and linen.
The new collection for spring-summer 2018 is called Mediterranean Sea.

White symbolises the brilliant light that is so characteristic of southern Spain. Soft blues and pinks, subtle sailor-style stripes, ochres;,terra cotta, and shades of beige take the limelight in Mediterranean Sea.
I discovered this brand only last year, and it was absolutely love at first sight. The colors chosen by Bqueenie swimwear for this collection by Inés Domecq and Laura Vecino are lovely. I can not do anything other than congratulate them and express my sincere admiration for these creations.
As you can see, the brand also has a swim collection for adults. If you visit their website, which I insist you do, you will probably fall in love as well. You are all warned!
Eli1957 shoes for kids
Eli shoes is much more than a brand; it is an institution in Spain. The company was born in the 68m2 site in Villena (Alicante) Spain in 1957. At that time, they had only 8 workers, who made all of their first shoes with 90% manual labor!
Now, Eli is an international presence, and their premises are super professional and much larger than they once were. But they still maintain the tradition, the quality, and the level of service level that has always defined them.
Cucada, Sibaritas, and Papanatas are the names of some of the collections you can find in their online shop. From baby leather shoes to some traditional Mary Janes and all the way to some of today’s most trendy styles, you can find it all at Eli1957 shoes for kids.
Something I really love about them is that sometimes they create special collections for very special shops only, and the results are astonishing… look!

Haciendo el Indio
A special brand with a unique soul. They offer a journey to childhood, a place where there is freshness, imagination, and freedom.
This universe is full of delicate, colorful illustrations that are fun to speak in the language of children. Haciendo el Indio produces and designs canvasses, vinyls, and pictures to decorate children’ rooms.
They also have some limited bedding collections that are only available at Privalia and Amazon.
Cristina Serrano was born in Madrid. She had a nomadic childhood between the sea, the city, and countryside. She traveled the world with her parents and siblings and her suitcase full of crayons.
Now, Cristina designs for her own brand as well for a lot of well-known brands. She has done many fascinating collaborations with some of the best professionals around the world.
Conguitos has been an iconic Spanish fashion brand since 1990. The brand started designing and producing children’s footwear only. However, their philosophical focus on comfort and style has made them known worldwide.
After more than 20 years of experience in the field of children’s footwear, Conguitos decided to develop its first kids’ wear line. A line made of unique pieces, designed and made in Spain with quality materials.
This is a little impression of their SS 18 collection.
As I wrap up this review, I realize that we have a lot of ideas for the girls and not so many for our dear boys. For my next article, I am going to try to find some Spanish brands that dedicate more attention to them! If you want to read more about fashion for kids you can find very interesting articles here. Talk to you soon.
